Presenting the 2026 Lineup of the JM Jazz World Orchestra!

After months of auditions and artistic selection, a brand-new international ensemble of outstanding young jazz musicians is preparing to come together once again for a summer filled with creativity, energy, and world-class jazz. The JM Jazz World Orchestra 2026 will continue its tradition of bringing together exceptional talent from across the globe, creating a unique musical experience that celebrates diversity, friendship, and artistic excellence.


The orchestra’s lineup reflects its truly global spirit, featuring musicians from the United States, New Zealand, China, Australia, Germany, Turkey, Mexico, Argentina, Denmark, Italy, Indonesia, India, Austria, Lithuania, and the Netherlands.

The JMJWO 2026 Tour

The 2026 JM Jazz World Orchestra journey will begin with rehearsals in the picturesque hilltop town of Grožnjan, Croatia, where this year’s ensemble will come together for an intensive period of artistic collaboration, learning, and musical exchange.

From there, the orchestra will embark on its most international tour yet, travelling to China and bringing fresh sounds and powerful performances to audiences in remarkable cultural venues. Together, these talented young artists will share their cultures, experiences, and musical voices, demonstrating the power of jazz to connect people across borders and inspire audiences around the world.

Artistic Director: Luis Bonilla

The JM Jazz World Orchestra is proud to continue its journey under the leadership of Luis Bonilla, who once again serves as Artistic Director. A distinguished U.S. / Costa Rican trombonist, composer, and educator, Bonilla is widely respected across the international music scene. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with celebrated artists including Mary J. Blige and Diana Ross. He was also mentored by the legendary Lester Bowie during his time with Brass Fantasy.


Bonilla has performed with some of the most influential ensembles in jazz, including the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra, the Mingus Big Band, and Brass Ecstasy. As a sought-after sideman, he has shared the stage with jazz legends such as McCoy Tyner, Dizzy Gillespie, Tom Harrell, Freddie Hubbard, Astrud Gilberto, Willie Colón, and Toshiko Akiyoshi.


Beyond his accomplishments as a performer, Bonilla is a passionate educator whose commitment to nurturing young musicians is reflected in his work with the JM Jazz World Orchestra. His dedication to mentoring emerging talent, combined with decades of experience alongside some of jazz’s greatest figures, continues to inspire the next generation of artists.
