Jazz up your summer in Norway! JM Norway in cooperation with JazzImproNorway 2018 is proud to announce the Summer Jazz Camp in Jazz Improvisation organized in Kristiansand, Norway this summer.
A festival of jazz improvisation JM Norway seeks up to four young, talented jazz musicians to participate as international guests at a jazz improvisation course held this summer in Norway! For the 25th time, this jazz summer course offers meetings between professionals, students and talented amateurs in a one week long celebration of jazz improvisation.
Features: ensemble playing and instrumental classes, composing/arranging classes, evenings out to concerts, jam sessions, lectures and grand final performance at the end of the course! Don’t miss out this unique chance to participate in a one of a kind Jazz Improvisation Course.
The course will be held from July 29th to August 5th 2018. The summer course takes place at the idyllic Agder Folkehøgskole in Søgne, on the southern coast of Norway.
All applicants must fill out the online application form including all information and audio material requested. The application must be submitted by 1 June 2018, or if you need a visa to travel to Norway: no later than May 21st. In addition, applicants must send their full CV to and their national JM office before the deadline.

The main topics of the summer jazz school of HGM in Grožnjan, with individual work with the professors: playing in combo, how the rhythm section works, and how to improvise on a theme and harmonic sequence.
The summer jazz school is open every day (except for free time when shore excursions are organized) from 9am to 12pm and from 16am to 7pm.
During the summer jazz school, there is also the International Jazz Festival "Jazz is back! - BP" where students (both singles and groups) will perform in the Festival program, and have a unique opportunity to spend the evening listening to older colleagues.
Good jazz music complements and enriches diversity, so trombones, trumpeters, violinists, flutists, if you love jazz music and if you want to spend 14 days creating great jazz, we'll see you in Grožnjan.
The program was realised in cooperation with the Austrian Cultural Forum in Zagreb, and it is part of the JMI - JM Jazz World program.
