Presenting the JM Jazz World Orchestra 2016

After a global open audition, our professional jury has screened a great amount of high quality applications and, after facing some tough choices, we are now excited to announce the complete lineup of JM Jazz World Orchestra 2016!

JMI is proud to once more offer to young outstanding jazz musicians the possibility to be a part of the world's premier international jazz ensemble, under the artistic leadership of the planet’s best artistic directors.

Thanks to over 120 high caliber applications received, this year's JM Jazz World Orchestra will, more than ever, realise of the goal of bringing together the world’s best young jazz talents with an international repertoire as diverse as its members.

19 amazing musicians from 14 different countries across 5 continents under the guide of the acclaimed California raised, Costa Rican trombonist, composer and arranger Luis Bonilla, reinvited to lead the big band in 2016 after the resounding success of last year.

Officially formed in 2012, the JM Jazz World Orchestra aims at achieving the highest artistic scope as possible, presenting a unique experience in terms of personal relations building, intercultural learning and exchange.

Each JMJWO session begins with an intense week of rehearsal and workshops where band members get to know one another and the artistic director through a process of artistic and personal discovery, a week of jazzy fun in an idyllic setting to learn, jam and prepare before heading off on to tour the international jazz circuit.

The 2016’s inspiring musical and intercultural experience will be hosted by JM Germany at the JMI World Meeting Centre in Weikersheim, Germany from the 28th of June to the 5th of July 2016. After fusing creativity and cultures the orchestra sets off on a tour to perform at some of the best gigs in Europe, that will finish around the 15th of July.
